This Hand Painted Cover was mailed from New York, N.Y. to Amsterdam, New York in 1938 franked by a 3-cent Thomas Jefferson Presidential issue of 1938, Scott 807. The stamp is tied to the envelope by a duplex.

The artwork depicts a young girl with pigtails, a straw hat, and overalls sitting on a section of fence with the addressee, Patricia Peebles,' name written (with backwards 'E's') on the fence crossmember, and her address appearing below.

Slit open top (of the envelope, at left in relation to artwork), the backflap is sealed and intact. No contents or backstamps.
