Complete set of 4 attractive clothing buttons were produced in the watch crystal style, with traditional tar backing. They are all signed and dated on the back: T.J.G. -- which stands for Theodore J. Gates -- '64. The four buttons each feature head-shots of the Beatles: George, Ringo, John and Paul -- with bits of glitter surrounding them. These were produced during the height of Beatlemania, in 1964. All images are encased under a watch crystal dome. They each have a loop shank embedded in the tar backing. Please refer to the ruler pictured in the image for the exact button size. Overall condition: EXCELLENT..... The George button has a small ding on the bottom edge, plus a very thin hairline crack extending up to the musicians left eye. This flaw is barely noticeable when viewed straight on, but you can see it if the button is viewed at an angle and light catches it just right. Otherwise, the buttons are in great shape, with no other noticeable flaws. My mom -- Nancy Moran -- was a longtime member of the National Button Society, plus was active in several local button clubs in New York. She downsized her collection before passing away in 2020, so I helped her sell some of her treasures. But I am not familiar with all the terminology and intricacies of button collecting. I try to use various notes she left with the buttons to describe them to the best of my ability, but understand that any terms I use in describing these items, are not terms I am familiar or experienced with.
