1943-S Jefferson Silver War Nickel NCG Gem MS66 5FS #8152639-001 (5 Full Steps)

The Jefferson nickel has been the 5¢ coin struck by the United States Mint since 1938, with the obverse featuring a profile depiction of Founding Father and 3rd President Thomas Jefferson by artist Felix Schlag, the reverse depicting Jefferson's home Monticello.

Nickel was a strategic war material during World War II, so nickels minted from 1942 to 1945 used a copper-silver-manganese alloy (35% silver) which would not require adjustment to vending machines. They bear a large mint mark above the depiction of Monticello on the reverse.

The beautiful coins shown is the coin that you will receive.
