Description: Quarto, original printed wrappers. 16 pp. Prices realised and purchaser's names in ink to the margins of all lots. Copies were issued with a plate showing a page from Lot 1 (Cook's Autograph Manuscript Diary kept during his First Voyage) but this copy has no plate, nor is there evidence of a plate being removed. Wrappers split along spine. Very Good.

¶ "These Manuscripts have been in the Library at Marton Hall for upwards of fifty years, having been purchased by the late Mr. Bolckow's uncle, but from whom and in what circumstances is unknown. Captain Cook was born in a laborurer's cottage on the estate."
