Rare find, this pre-1906 antique hand blown in mold Moxie bottle features embossed text that reads:
MOXIE
NERVE FOOD
LOWELL
MASS
PATENTED
It is approximately 10 in tall without the cork, and has a diameter of approximately three and a quarter inches.
An early Moxie bottle when it still had "Nerve Food" in its name, back when it was sold as a medicinal.
The bottom of the bottle has the letter A and a star.
This beautiful bottle has a blue green tint, fantastic bubbles and a side seam that reaches up almost to the cleanly tapered blob top.
I do not know if the cork is is original to the bottle but it's a perfect fit and a very cool cork. The cork reads "Alpha 80" on the top and has a liberty eagle on the bottom. I am not an expert in corks by any means.
The only imperfection on this bottle is a slight chip on the very top, thankfully on the rear. It's effectively invisible when the cork is in the bottle.
That said, with a bottle like this please examine the pictures as they are the ultimate guide to condition.
It's an excellent bottle, and a perfect addition to any bottle or Moxie collection.
I gave the exterior of this bottle a quick rinse but did not attempt to do a deep clean.
