WIRE CUTTERS - British Army - Type 256 - Date Stamped 1944 - Crated, Unissued ‘New Old Stock’

This listing is for the British Army Wire Cutters, as pictured.

As you can see from the photos, they are in their original wooden crate, never issued, and all date-stamped 1944, each with their broad arrow-mark. Although they’re unissued, there are some rust spot-marks on some of them - surface rust only. I deliberately haven’t wire-brushed them or oiled them up, as I wanted to list them as honestly as possible in ‘as found’ condition.

All of the ones listed are fully operational, and the lever arms flip out on all of them. All of the catches operate as they should. At this time, I’m only listing the bottom layer of 9 out of the 25 in the crate, as these are all in the best condition, unsurprisingly.

The cutters themselves have ‘256’ clearly stamped on them, and the crate is marked as ‘WA 10675’.

These pop up on eBay a few times, albeit I’ve not seen any unissued ones like these - prices seem to vary at £30 to £40. I am selling these ones at £27.50 each, to include packaging and UK postage.

Really really useful items - we have a few in our toolbox on the farm, and they’re always being used to cut up barbed wire, fencing wire, electrical wire etc. Really powerful, especially with the arms extended.

Any questions, then please email me. Thanks.
