GEORGE III SILVER COFFEE POT London 1761.

This coffee pot was purchased from Christies East Auction house back in the 90s. I have the original catalog. The coffee pot has a ding in the side , see pictures. Overall still very nice! See pictures for further conditions!


A GEORGE III SILVER COFFEE POT, London, 1761, maker's mark apparently that of Thomas Whipham & Charles Wright (worn), with later handle, pear shaped on gadrooned circular foot, the lower body chased with swirling flutes headed by foliate scroll and divided by "waves" one side engraved with coat of arms, crest and motto, the shoulder chased with wavy scroll bordered slanted C scrolls, the scroll handle with similar

"waves", the leaf capped scroll

spout also decorated with acanthus and foliate scrolls, the gadrooned bordered, hinged,

hinged, molded domed cover with

swirling scroll chased

I calyx to the fluted acorn finial-

11¾in. (29.8cm.) high, gross weight 33oz.
