Wow what a beautiful find this is. After far too much time looking for information on this piece I discovered the company (who is still around today!) who made this terracotta spice jar in the 1940s.

This piece really is a beautiful way to store or display your spices, specifically, oregano! (Or Origano as it spelt the Italian way on this jar!)

I have found one other spice jar available from the 40s which is retailing for over $100 with shipping.
