  • Beschreibung: Nach einer Darstellung aus der im späten 12. Jahrhundert verfassten Enzyklopädie "Hortus Deliciarum" von der Äbtissin Herrad von Landsberg (um 1125 - 1195 Odilienberg). Die Darstellung zeigt in ganzfiguriger Ansicht die gekrönte Maria mit Engelsflügeln, die von einem Engel das Jesuskind erhält. Hinter ihr sind Sonne und Mond dargestellt. Seitlich sind zwei Drachen zu sehen. Die Darstellung geht zurück auf die Beschreibung einer apokalyptischen Frau in der Offenbarung der Johannes. Oben links bezeichnet mit "Hortus deliciarum Pl. LXXVI",.

  • Description: After a depiction from the encyclopaedia "Hortus Deliciarum" written in the late 12th century by Abbess Herrad of Landsberg (c. 1125 - 1195 Odilienberg). The depiction shows a full-figure view of the crowned Mary with angel wings receiving the infant Jesus from an angel. Behind her are the sun and the moon. Two dragons can be seen to the side. The depiction goes back to the description of an apocalyptic woman in the Revelation of John. Inscribed on the upper left with "Hortus deliciarum Pl. LXXVI",.

  • Condition: Good condition. There are clear creases along the upper edge of the sheet. The upper third of the sheet is dusty, the other sheet edges are faintly brownish discoloured. There is a dot-shaped print spot in the paper at lower left. The colours are freshly preserved.
