Wonderful antique plaster statue of Saint Rita, the patron saint of impossible causes who was beatified in 1626 and canonized in 1900.  Approximately 12" tall. Mark of the stigmata on her forehead. Makers mark on reverse - the word plaster is readable, but the remaining copy is difficult to make out. Definitely late 19th or early 20th century. St Rita stands on a wooden base of what appears to be old growth wood (2.5" x 3.5")

Displays beautifully.
