  • Beschreibung: bezeichnet "Mle. Michonneau". Darstellung einer der Hauptfiguren aus Balzacs Roman "Vater Goriot". Mademoiselle Michonneau, eine geldgierige Pensionärin ist im Kopfporträt dargestellt. Ein mit einer Feder verziertes Bonnet schmückt ihren Kopf, missmutig hat sie ihren Kopf auf ihre rechte Hand gestützt. "Vater Goriot" entstand im Rahmen von Balzacs Romanzyklus "La Comédie humaine" und gehört zu den "Szenen aus dem Privatleben". Balzac thematisiert an einem nahezu alle Sozialschichten umfassenden Personenensemble sowohl den gesellschaftlichen Aufstieg als auch dessen Niederungen und Abgründe im Kontext der Restauration des beginnenden 19. Jahrhunderts.

  • Description: inscribed "Mle. Michonneau". Depiction of one of the main characters from Balzac's novel "Father Goriot". Mademoiselle Michonneau, a money-grubbing pensioner is depicted in a head portrait. A bonnet decorated with a feather adorns her head, and she has scowled, resting her head on her right hand. "Father Goriot" was written as part of Balzac's novel cycle "La Comédie humaine" and belongs to the "Scenes from Private Life". Balzac uses an ensemble of characters from almost all social classes to thematise both social advancement and its downs and abysses in the context of the Restoration of the early 19th century.

  • Condition: Good condition. Faint crease marks in the area of the margins as well as the corners. Pale discolourations in places, the paper is slightly damaged at the lower margin. The image is not affected by this.
