Welcome to my auction for this absolutely gorgeous, beautiful and, above all, elegant Silver Swan sweet or condiment receptacle AND its original matching hallmarked silver plate to sit upon.

Used for bon bons, sweet meats, sugared almonds or what nots, this little gem is a real treasure from bygone days.

I've seen many on here and on many other auction sites, but non in such exquisite condition,  and with its original silver plate too....extremely rare !

The hallmarks are also very interesting with a Minorah and Star of David so maybe Jewish Silver???

I'm not well versed in such matters but I'm led to believe it's a highly sought after item especially with the original plate!

Absolutely perfect for creating a "WOW" at your dinner table and a welcome addition to any display cabinet or dinner service.

Just imagine passing this charming receptacle after dinner?

People had such amazing panache back then , and I adore how the wings perfectly spread when accessed providing access to its precious cargo!

Exquisite hand cut lead crystal glass base with a beautifully detailed 925 sterling silver head/neck and articulated (moving) wings and (again) the matching hallmarked silver salver.

The wings have delicately embossed feathers and pierced details making them both eye catching and beautiful.

Also....the glass is cut vertically and diagonally to give the effect of plumage so its really sparkles in the light.

Approx

10.5cm high

11 cm long

16 cm wingspan

Condition is great and It's just been sonically cleaned and lightly polished with a wipe post bath.

No chemicals!

Now it looks absolutely gorgeous as it did back in the day.

N.B..... I saw one of these (The Exact Same)  in Chatsworth House on display as a young lad and it always stuck in my mind. Obviously, when this came up for auction it was a "no brainer"!!!

Now 40 Ive marveled at its timeless elegance and beauty but I only have so much room in my cabinets, hence its reluctant sale.

Any questions please feel free to ask?
