THE COKIN SYSTEM

On the market for over 45 years the COKIN Creative Filter System launched a new concept of image creation. Using the most advanced technologies, the COKIN System is designed for all photographers, whether they are amateurs or professionals.

The key words are simplicity and rapid use, leaving room for individual inspiration and creativity. COKIN filters not only offer an indispensable range of options but also save a considerable amount of time in post production editing. The efficiency of the COKIN system has convinced millions of users worldwide. Perhaps, you are next?

Created by renowned French fashion and landscape photographer Jean Coquin in 1978, the Cokin Creative Filter System remains a staple of the international photography community. The system is based primarily on square or rectangular “drop-in” filters that slide into a filter holder. The holder mounts on lenses via a simple adapter ring of the appropriate size.

Most all Cokin filters are made from very high-quality, European produced optical resin know as C39. Jean Coquin chose this resin because of its optical clarity and stability. It is light and unbreakable, has an extremely high optical transmission factor and is perfectly suited for tinting. It is the perfect base for making photographic filters, its precision surpassing that of mineral glass.

Cokin P Series 121L G2 - ND2 Hard 1-Stop Graduated Neutral Density

Filter Holder & Adapter Ring not included

The Cokin Hard-Edge 1-stop Graduated Neutral Density filter helps darken specific areas of the image, like bright skies, while leaving other areas of the image unaffected. The filter is most dense at the edge and tapers to clear at the middle, with a hard-edged line of transition. A neutral density filter with a hard-edged line of transition is useful for images with defined horizon lines. Neutral density filters do not affect the color of the image while creating a more balanced exposure.

More about the Cokin Filter System

A SIMPLE PRINCIPLE :
Filter-Holder + Adaptor Ring

The COKIN Filter-holder can be precisely adjusted and attached to the lens by means of a screw-in adaptor ring. A change of camera or of lens necessitates only a change of adaptor ring, not the Filter-holder nor the filters.

The COKIN Filter-holder has four grooves. One holds round filters, which can be rotated in the groove. The three others hold square filters which can be adjusted up or down at will.

- Own ONE filter for all your lenses regardless of filter size
by just adding another adaptor ring.
- Rotate, slide, decenter in all directions
for more precision and creativity.

The COKIN SYSTEM is also a complete range of more than 200 CREATIVE FILTERS made of high quality of optical material considered today as being part of the most advance technologies (extra light weight, highly resistant to shocks, excellent optical transmission, high compatibility to coloring etc.).

Philly Photo Supply is an authorized Cokin dealer and only sells authentic Cokin products

We cannot continue to offer our low prices and great service if we give our merchandise away. We only decline offers that do not make sense (cents) for us to accept. When you compare our offer to other sellers, compare the total package!

Philly Photo uses the Best Offers feature for several specific reasons:

  • eBay allows us to offer Free Shipping to US buyers but this puts international buyers at an unfair disadvantage since we must always pay shipping. We feel this is unfair, therefore we use Best Offer so that international buyers get the same discount given to US buyers for the free shipping. US buyers should be aware that we will often decline their offers because the free shipping is the Best Offer available for that item. This is often the case with items under $100 or items shipped to the west coast.

  • Many suppliers require that we post a fixed Minimum Advertised Price. For these suppliers we use the Best Offer feature so that you can purchase the item at a discounted price. In many cases we also offer free goods or free shipping on these items. US buyers need to calculate the free shipping as part of the discount, since we are paying the shipping. Depending on the offer, we will also not include any free items with Best Offers. We carefully analyze each and every offer to see if it makes sense for us to make the deal and we really want every sale we can get.

We know people make mistakes, change their minds or find that an item just does not fit their needs. You can return or exchange a new item purchased from Philly Photo Supply within thirty (30) days from receipt under the following conditions:

  • Item must be returned in the same salable condition as it was when shipped. Item must be returned with complete packaging, tags, labels, instructions, and original manufacturer supplied accessories.

Returned items will be inspected upon return and should the item be incomplete, show signs of use, exhibit damage, contain stains or odors from cigarettes the item will be returned to the buyer at the buyers expense. Handling Charges

Shipping insurance is the responsibility of the Seller and the actual insurance amount has been included in the Handling Fee. Our Handling Fee includes some or all the following costs: insurance coverage, cost of packing materials, postage service fees, pick up fees, and preparation of documentation.

Importation of items from another country can cause significant delays in the arrival of your item. We will can give the approximate shipping times for the arrival of your item but these do not allow for delays by customs officials in both the US and at the final destination. Please consider this in your expectations for travel time and in leaving appropriate feedback. We will remove any feedback that refers to slow shipping caused by customs delays.

Most foreign countries impose a duty, customs charge or value added tax on items shipped from the US. This charge is added by the shipping company, not us, and collected at delivery. This money is collected by your government and none of it comes to us. Please check with YOUR postal or customs authorities to determine the amount and reporting requirements. We have a difficult time understanding our own tax system and we have absolutely no desire to figure out the customs of the 50 or so other countries we ship to.

We will not under-value or declare items as a gift on customs forms to enable the avoidance of customs fees. This is against US and international Postal Regulations.

We accept no responsibility, financially or legally, for any customs duty or VAT charged to items upon final delivery. These charges are the buyer's responsibility as the result of making a foreign purchase. Please check with your country's customs office to determine what these additional costs will be prior to bidding or buying. We will remove any feedback that refers to unfair customs charges.
