Fibreglass Primer’s

Single Pack & Two Pack Epoxy

Fibreglass Primer is available in Single Pack or in Two Pack Epoxy. Both provide excellent mechanical adhesion to fibreglass and mild steel. Two Pack Epoxy Fibreglass Primer provides a harder more chemically resistant coating compared to the Single Pack.

Both the Single Pack and Two Pack Epoxy Fiberglass Primers are widely used in marine applications such as boats, narrow boats, and barges along with industrial applications such as vehicle refinishing.

Key Facts for Single Pack

Touch Dry in 20-30 Minutes
Overcoat in 12-24 hours
Thinners if required T1000 Xylene Thinners
Coverage approx. 8-10 squared meters per litre. we cannot be held responsible for the method of application, absorption of substrate or wastage.

Key Facts for Two Pack Epoxy

Mixing ratio 4 parts paint to 1 part catalyst
Touch Dry in 2-4 hours.
Overcoat in 12-24 hours.
Once catalysed pot life if 4-6 hours
Coverage approx. 8 sqaure meter per litre. We cannot be held responsible for the method of application, absorption of substrate or wastage.
Best primer to use in below water line applications.
Two pack epoxy primer can not be applied over existing paint as this will attack it, you will need to take it back to bare fibreglass
Offers the better adhesion compared to single pack.
Thinners if required T0200 Epoxy thinner
Epoxies won’t cure in temperatures below 10 degrees c. If you can add heat into the area this has to be dry heat NOT gas heat.

Mixing Two Pack Epoxies

1. Make sure you use a broom stick, mixer on a slow running drill or pallet knife to mix (An egg whisk, screwdriver or small stick that does not reach the bottom of the can is not sufficient enough)

2. Mixing should take place for 3-5 minutes allow to stand for a minute and repeat.

3. Ensuring all the content is properly mixed to avoid colour and or drying problems.
