Most interesting monograph on natural dyes and colors for wools and woolen fabrics by French botanist Louis-Alexandre Dambourney (1722-1795). The work contains hundreds of formulas for natural dyes and paints after plants, fruits, insects (including cochineal), and other elements from nature.   The last part of the work with a table containing an index arranged by colors of natural dying formulas.

Contemporary (18th century) full leather  binding, spine with nice gilt décor; hand painted marbled end leaves.  Binding tired with small pieces of leather missing and a some minor worm damage, joints a little cracked on the upper part. 

Condition: Work in good condition, despite half title with loss of paper not affecting text and paper browned and with spots and /or stains.
