complete glass and bezel refurbishment kit - bezel - glass - rubber - 2 inch

This item is a complete bezel and glass kit to refurbish Smiths 2 inch diameter instruments. Typically fitted to the fuel , dual and auxiliary gauges on the MGA MGB MGC MG Midget. Please note these are single bevel bezels ie they are straight on the outside and have a bevel on the inside.

Set consists of the following and as shown in the picture:-

1 x 2 inch bezel

1 x 2 inch glass

Sponge cord for fitting between the bezel and glass

1 x 2 inch square cut ring for fitting between the instrument and dash

2 inch bezel specifics - outside diameter 55.7 mm - overall depth less tags 5.1 mm - profile half vee - fixing by 3 fold over tags - finish chrome plate over brass - fits Smiths 2 inch nominal diameter cases

Fitting instructions.

The instrument must be removed from the dashboard to fit the new bezels and glass. Remove the bezel and glass. On the 4 inch instruments it is sometimes easier to remove the glass and inner rim complete and then seperate. Carefully clean any parts to be reused. Now assemble with the new parts. Note there is only a gasket under the glass on the 4 inch instruments. The sponge cord is fitted inside the bezels. Turn the instrument over and place face down on a solid flat surface. Using a blunt instrument such as a srewdiver carefully peen over the tags so that the bezel is pulled tight against the glass. The instrument is now ready for refitting to the dashboard. The square cut gaskets fit between the instrument and dash.
