NATIONAL SERVICE MEDAL 1939-1960
A MINT CONDITION MINIATURE COMMEMORATIVE MEDAL WITH RIBBON
Between January 1939 when the National Service Act was passed, and December 1960 when it was repealed, some 5,300,000 young people were conscripted into the armed services.
The medal was proposed by the Royal British Legion and almost 100,000 of the full size medals have been issued to date.
