Butyl-rubber glazing tape suitable for wooden framed windows and other applications

Postage - One roll weighs around 1 kilogram. Two rolls often weigh over two kilos, which is a large parcel costing almost seven pounds. Any orders of three or more rolls we will refund excess postage or ask for an invoice before paying.

Uniform butyl rubber tape, sticky both sides, quite firm, but is also slowly malleable and stretchy - each turn is separated by a waxed paper strip as shown

This tape has excellent impermeability and is suitable for all weather conditions. It has good flex properties, and excellent adhesion to glass, wood, metal, concrete and many other materials. If you are unsure, this butyl-rubber material has a dense 'mastic-like' quality to it. The tape has a square edged profile. 

It is extremely sticky to surfaces such as glass and plastics.

Excellent UV and weather resistance.

• Independently certified to meet the requirements of BS7950:1997 – Specification for enhanced
security performance of windows for domestic applications.
• Independently tested to meet the requirements of BS6375:Part1:1989 - Performance of windows and
doors. Classification for weather tightness and guidance on selection and specification.

Temperature use - -40'C to + 70'C..................250% elongation before break...........................10 N/cmsq force to achieve 20% compression at installation. 

Recommended compression to be used up to 20% in order to maintain the correct pressure.

I have included an image of the white tape used between a wooden frame and double glazing unit in 2010 - the wood and tape have both been painted.

Boats - I have received enquiries about using Butyl Tape in marine environments - I can't find a tape specifically for marine environments, but here is a discussion on using high quality butyl-tape for windows and fittings on boats
