Here we offer a new, original rear cover tensioning rope (no cheap replica) for the Golf Cabrio 1 (year of construction 1986 until 1993) incl. instructions for changing this rope.
Please carefully look at the different qualities and then decide whether you want a cheap or equal to the best imitation rope. Important indentations to hold the rope are missing at the cheaper version although the edges re made for it.
The rope is naturally plastic coatedand very flexible.
Used ropes are always brown in the range of radii and should not be used again because individual strands tear apart and then slowly drill through the material and damage the paint under the fabric at the vehicle vibration as a last resort. When the paint is scratched it starts soon to rust and all of that just because of an old stretch cord.

To secure the workers the yellow chromate (no longer permitted in Germany) has been replaced by a normal threaded part. Apart from that this cable is exactely what we used at Karmann in the series production and already provides many convertibles a secure fit for over 20 years.

On request we offer a cpl. illustrated manual as a PDF which helps you to replace the rope securely for free.
In the small pictures (see below) you can see the press-fit for the 5 series end wrench to hold. With cheap imitations, these indentations are not available and the cable end can not be properly secured against rotation. We can offer the fitting of the tensioning rope but it's not part of this auction.
