This one comes with a note : "This pith helmet was brought back from Calcutta by Rupert Fraser 1st Officer Brockebank line on The Mahseer 1937"

"Mahseer SS was a British Cargo Steamer of 7,864 tons built in 1925 by Charles Connell & Company, Scotstoun, Yard No 404 for Thos & Jno Brocklebank, Liverpool. On the 18th October 1941 she was mined at 51.41N/01.19E inward bound from Calcutta via Hampton Roads for London."


The second one (whitewashed) All i can make out on the label is size 7 and Karachi


The third one (excellent condition) is an american helmet made by The International Hat company 1944

Stamped inside "International Hat Company Contract NOm 44B May 31st 1944

The company is best remembered for its mass production of tropical shaped, military fiber helmets for soldiers of the United States Army, Marines, and Navy during and after World War II"
