Description:  A nice example of the signed limited edition of 1929, in its rare original dustwrapper. This is number 197 of the three hundred copies produced, and is signed and numbered by Siegfried Sassoon, and signed by the artist William Nicholson. Original pictorial vellum in the original pictorial dustwrapper. 296 pages plus seven illustrations, all with tissue guards, as called for.  The dustwrapper is in attractive condition, with a little darkening to the spine and extremities, and a small patch of repair and reinforcement to a tear at the bottom left edge of the front cover (see picture).  The book itself is also in attractive condition, having been protected by the dustwrapper. Bumping to the corner-tips and spine ends. Patch of staining to the bottom edge corresponding to the tear in the dustwrapper (see pictures), carrying through to the inside front cover.  Top edge gilt, other edges untrimmed.  Original decorative endpapers. Binding sound and square. A nice example of this rare item.
