Each card in the set measures 1 7/8" x 3" (7,5 x 4,5 cm) and features a colorful lithographic illustration of a useful bird.

 The artwork is credited on each card to Louis Agassie Fuertes.  Fuertes (1874-1927) was a noted American ornithologist and artist. He influenced a generation of wildlife artists who came later, including George Sutton (whom Fuertes mentored), Roger Tory Peterson, and Jorg Khun, to name a few.

The colorful cards in this series depict the Redstart, Yellow-throat, Eastern Phoebe, Rose-breasted Grosbeak, Red-eyed Vireo, Black and White Warbler, Downy Woodpecker, Robin, Bobolink, Eastern Bluebird, Scarlet Tanager, Song Sparrow, Eastern Kingbird, Purple Martin, and White-breasted Nuthatch.
