1 of a number of antique Victorian pot lids - Prattware lids I am currently selling from an old collection....if they have a number in brackets on the title that is from the POT LIDS book by K.V. Mortimer 2003 edition......quite often the Victorian's used to collect them after they used the Anchovy Paste contents of the pot and had them framed up as a wall furnishing due to the fact they are taken usually from famous paintings... some of these lids will be framed...but I like to take the backs off so I can see any damage etc... you cannot always see under the flange etc.
Some of these had prices and dates from 1969 so a good old collection.
Please note.. if they are in ebay auction ...I do not end auctions early ..its NOT fair to would be genuine collectors or dealers with DEEPER pockets than the folks that offer a few quid at first !!
If they are in my ebay shop they are BUY IT NOW - BEST OFFERS.
Some are restored which I will describe and photograph but please look at the photographs to see for yourself.....Also remember some folks all around the world are not fortunate enough to go bottle digging or to bottle fairs to find these for themselves...they may be common to some of you and equally as rare to other worldwide buyers !
Here is a Victorian Prattware plate.......it has the same picture as a pot lid THE CAVALIER .... its number is 128 in the pot lid book.
Extra gilt lines.
The plate is in OK collectable condition... glaze is crazed and slightly dark stained on the back....green background border with extra gilt lines....wear on the rim edge...and quite abit of the green border is worn off.. so this plate has been used.
I sell many plates to collectors of similar subjects that want something different.. so if you are into HORSE collectables this is always a nice go-with.
It is 7 and a quarter inch dia.

I post every business day (Monday to Friday). If you buy something and pay for it Friday noon or Saturday please be aware it will be posted to you on Monday as I am usually at a live auctions veiwing & buying on Saturdays.
