Ensō, which means circle, is a famous motif found in Zen painting. It symbolizes emptiness, unity, and infinity in Zen Buddhism. Traditionally, the circular motif is traced with a skillful, singular brush stroke. Murakami’s execution of the circular motif is created using spray paint, which is then digitized and silkscreened over his signature artwork of flowers and skulls. The capsule introduces our iconic helmet within the Ensō, mirroring the spray paint technique.
