The grout is made from the highest quality waterproof and mould resistant acrylic. Mixed with the super sparkly and fade resistant glitter, your kitchen or bathroom will shine forever.
When light hits the glitter crystals within the grout, it reflects and flickers a beautiful shimmer, bringing any tiled area to life.
How to Use
Hemway Ready Mixed Glitter Grout comes with specially formulated glitter evenly mixed throughout. Ensure the tiles are firmly fixed and all grout joints are clean. With a flexible plastic trowel, press the grout into the joints to compact firmly. Work at a 45 Degree angle across the joints. Use the trowel to remove all excess grout from the tiles. Use a slightly dampened scouring pad with the rough side down to remove all material from the surface of the tiles. Frequently wash the scouring pad. Use the sponge side of the pad to remove any film or polymer remaining and to smooth the surface of the joints. Allow the grout to dry for 2-4 hours, then use a slightly dampened scouring pad to remove any residue from the surface of the tiles. The wider and deeper the joints are, the longer the full curing time of the grout. It may be necessary to give the tile surface a final polishing after 24 hours with a dry cloth. As the material dries through water evaporation, it will skin on the surface and keep the material beneath wet for much longer. Avoid subjecting the surface of the joint to water for at least 7 days. Not recommended for metallic detailed tiles or unglazed tiles where the grout could leave a stain.
Preparation
Ensure tiling surfaces are dry, clean and free from dust and grease. Prime very porous surfaces with a coat of acrylic primer. The primer coat should be completely dry before proceeding. Treat timber surfaces with water contact with a water resistant sealer before tiling. Always test a tile before use to ensure the tiles are not stained or scratched by the grout. Not suitable for satin, matte, metallic, detailed tiles or kitchen surfaces.
Application
With a notched spreader, apply the adhesive to cover an area of 0.5m-1m². Bed the tiles into the adhesive for complete contact between the tiles and adhesive. Insert plastic spacers between the tiles when bedding to form grout lines. It may be necessary to provide support for the tiles during the initial drying period. Remove any excess adhesive from the face of the tiles with a damp cloth. The working time of the grout and adhesive is 20 minutes.
Leave the tiles to set for 24 hours or 48 hours if tiling on non-porous surfaces. Spread the grout into the grout lines with a damp cloth, sponge or flat edged spreader until filled. Remove excess grout from the tile face immediately with a damp cloth. After 15 minutes, run the end of a round stick no thinner than the grout line along the grout lines. Leave the grout to dry for about 1 hour and then polish the tiles with a clean, dry cloth. Avoid wetting the tiles for 24 hours. All times refer to site conditions of 20°C or 68°F. Working times increase at lower temperatures and decrease at higher temperatures.
Cleaning
The product contains an acticide to protect the grout. Hemway recommends cleaning the grout with an antibacterial cleaner at regular intervals. This will ensure a maintained appearance.
Health & Safety
Non-flammable. Take care during use and storage to avoid contact with foodstuffs, skin, eyes and mouth. Upon accidental ingestion, immediately seek medical attention. Keep out of reach of children and animals.
Mixture
Ready-Mixed Fix & Grout exceeds the requirements of BS5980 (1980) Type 2 Water Resistant Class AA and BSEN 12004 Type D2.
Storage
Store unopened in cool, dry conditions. If stored correct, this product has a 12 month shelf life. You assume responsibility for the use and application of the Ready-Mixed Fix & Grout.
