HID 35w Xenon Bulbs (PAIR)

This is for a PAIR of replacement 35w Xenon Bulbs.

These bulb ware over time, so if your headlights are not what they used to be or your HID kit is more than 3 year old, it may be worth changing your bulbs, even if they have not blown. If a headlight has gone a orangey/pinky colour, it is just about to fail. This is what xenon bulbs often do just before they fail.

They can also be used to convert your HID kit to a different fitment so that it can be used in a car that takes a this fitment of bulb. All HID ballasts are universal so these will fit any aftermarket HID ballast.

Specifications:

  • 2 Year Warranty
  • CE approved
  • 360 Light Distribution
  • E Marked (European Standard)
  • CE & RoHS Compliant
  • Single beam or Bi-Xenon use.
  • Temperature tested
  • High salt content metal base bulbs
  • Replacement power wires

HID bulbs MUST be changed in pairs!! If you change just one it will be a completely different colour and brightness.

Please note these are to be used with a HID kit, they will not work without the ballasts, if you need a full kit please see our other items.

Also if you have a bulb out it may be the ballast that has failed, please check before you purchase.

A ballast can also cause bulbs to fail. If you have had your HID kit for more than a year if its a cheap kit or more than 2 years if its a good kit then we advise to buy a full new kit otherwise you may find yourself constantly changing bulbs.

The Bulbs
These bulbs are the best quality on the market today. A lot of time went into researching which bulbs we were going to sell. We buy from factories that make bulbs for the likes of Osram or Philips.

It therefor goes without saying that the bulbs we use are metal base bulbs rather than cheap plastic ones. A lot of people think the comparison of bulbs stops there, when in fact this is far from the truth. There is a lot more to consider other than just metal or plastic base. There is salt content, electrode material, type of salt, and the list goes on.

Salt

Yes your Xenon bulb has salt in it. The salt is the heart of your bulb and is used as fuel essentially. The air gap between the cathode and anode, and the firing voltage to excite the salts. Well this is what makes the bulbs tick. The less salt in the chamber, the less salt vapour and the plasma is more unpredictable generally producing more heat and less light output. This makes these bulbs run hotter and unevenly.

Electrodes

The electrodes of genuine high quality bulbs are made from thoriated tungsten. A long time ago when microwaves were new technology, thoriated tungsten electrodes were introduced as an alternative to the use of pure tungsten electrodes. 1-2% of the electrodes are made up of thorium dioxide (ThO2) which makes the bulb last longer because the electrode is more robust.

Cheap bulbs generally are made of pure tungsten which is super cheap. It erodes quickly, and the bulb life is short. It also stresses what little salts are in there and the output can be "wavy" or inconsistent over temperature and/or time. In general the luminous output is also less with a tungsten filament because more of the current flowing through the filament is transferred to heat versus being used to arc the salts (making more light).

Heat Resistant

These bulbs have been thoroughly tested against heat. Usually come winter time many people find themselves without lights, which is probably the time of year when you most need them. These bulbs will perform no matter what the conditions outside are!

Colour

We stock a range of temperatures to choose from. If the bulbs in your car came with the car from new they will be 4300k this is what most cars with Xenons come from factory with. You can change the temperature (colour) by changing the bulbs. Please bare in mind that the higher the temperature you go, the less light you will get, a lot of people think this is the other way around. Below is a chart to be used as a comparison of colour.
