Product Detail: This product is designed to provide remote control switching between the superb enhanced “loud mode” exhaust tone that Astons can deliver and the sometimes more practical “quiet mode” by the press of a button on an "Aston Quality" remote control key fob where the loud symbol releases that superb enhanced sound of a performance focused Aston. Note: The default setting for this item in standard form is that it will start up in quiet mode and switch to loud mode when the loud button is pressed. Should you prefer your Rapide to start up in loud mode and switch to quiet mode when the quiet button is pressed, then please advise by email when ordering. I advise standard (start quiet) for the Rapide as this module can change the character of the car.
Alternatively you may wish to look at our "Auto Memory" version where you can select start up loud / quiet from the keyfob and the car continues to start up that way until you choose to change it.
Product Location: The unit and all associated cabling is entirely housed within the existing fuse box located in the rear cabin area of your Rapide and is easily accessed. The structure of the fuse box is not modified in any way and the lid refits onto the existing moisture seal to provide a totally covert installation, without external control boxes or cables feeding under the fuse box lid.
Why 5 Aston Product Variants ? The unit that you will receive will have been designed specifically for the ultimate ease of install on your variant of Aston. The cables will be the correct length, fitted with the correct terminations complemented with fitting instructions bespoke for your particular Aston.
The model bespoke instructions take you through a couple of simple steps leaving you 100% ready to go. The Rapide install is a 25 to 30 minute task as it s fuse box takes 15 -20 minutes to access, (once at this point its again a 90 second task to then fit) the cccharger "Hoovie" video on the home page gives an idea on the ease of installation
Product Fitting: It’s important to recognise that this device is supplied as a complete and bespoke fitment for your model of Aston. With correct length cabling and connectors attached to allow instant push fit connections.

Product Operation: The unit operates by controlling the exhaust vacuum solenoid direct from the key fob, where pressing the loud symbol on the key fob places your Aston into that superb loud mode that would otherwise not be activated until you are north of around 4000 RPM (3600 RPM with sport button operation where fitted)
The unit is set to be in normal or quiet mode as the default, this will utilise the existing vacuum controls to hold the by pass valves in the exhaust box in quiet mode until revs are north of around 4000 RPM, operating totally as Aston originally designed it to. The loud button can then be operated at any time after start up to instigate the superb enhanced exhaust note that gives such a delightful distinctive enhanced tone, from around 1500 RPM upward towards 4000 RPM (a very common rev range for day to day driving)

It sounds like a beast even without buildings for the exhaust note to bounce off, and this has completely changed the personality of the car.I’ve run through a couple of tunnels and the noise makes me laugh like a looney. Just a quick note. Have been busy whilst at home in Aus but installed your exhaust butterfly controller last week. You are correct. It completely changes the normal exhaust note......in a good way. Even when idling around town below 2000 rpm it sounds fantastic. Best part is being able to turn the beast into a pussy cat at any stage.
