Moody and atmospheric, the heavily synthesized instruments on this album -- all played by Nash -- sound much like Jean-Michel Jarre or Pink Floyd at their trippiest. The album's music was written and performed for film and painting exhibitions, including "Un Chien Andalou," composed as a soundtrack for a 1928 silent film made by Luis Bunuel and Salvador Dali. The music "is not a reflection of current musical trends either by Nash The Slash or any other violinist living or dead," Nash explains. Instead of Side One and Side Two, the LP liner notes list Left Side and Right Side (of the brain?). Perfect sounds for a dark and stormy night. ~ Mark Allan
