Oak Chips are used in the process of making wine, mead, beer, or cider to impart oak flavor and essence without the need for an oak barrel. They may be used for any style where toasted oak is desired. You will receive 4 ounces of the style you choose.

Light Toast: Ideal for adding just a hint of barrel-aged flavors & aromas.
Medium Toasted: Made from highly-sought-after Hungarian oak for a smooth, balanced, almost creamy taste.
Dark/Heavy Toasted: American oak is considered to be the most "Oak-y" for rich, powerful flavor (think Kentucky Bourbon Whiskey).

• Usage: 3-4 ounces for 5-6 gallons.
• Recommended minimum contact time is 2 months
• Greater surface area on the chips allows fuller, faster extraction
