VTG 1940s WWII U.S. Army Air Forces  "Remember Me" Patch - Handmade Needlepoint by Mother of Serviceman

Absolutely heart-warming estate sale find here. What you see pictured is a handmade (I believe NeedlePoint) "United States Army Air Forces" patch from the 1940s WWII era. It is woven in a fabric swatch (when opened up, the fabric swatch measures approximately 9" x 9"). Not sure of the material, but it is definitely very soft, maybe silk. Written above the official Military seal are the words "Remember Me". So, in essence, a mother's tribute to her son, who very well may have gone off to war and made the ultimate sacrifice.

I can only guess that the mother of this serviceman made these and shared them with other families. Her son became a pilot, graduating from the Carlsbad Army Air Forces Bombardier School. I have his graduation booklet & wings up for sale as part of a separate lot. Other hand made patches that I've obtained include the word "mother" placed between the wings of the Air Force seal.
