★★★★★5 out of 5 stars – Add this tool to your collection If your going to do some brake and fuel lines, get this. Don't screw around with sectioning the lines just run them the whole way and with this every flare and bubble are perfect. If you mess it up, like the crappy vice version, you were trying. Definitely get this if you see more then one set of lines in your future. ★★★★★5 out of 5 stars – Worth it, saves your sanity This product may seem a little pricey but if you do your own repairs to save money it will easily pay for itself. I'm sure it's what the pros use to get done fast and easy charging you a bundle in labor though. I grew tired of messing with the parts store brand flairing tools not always getting my flair right . Junk . It seemed like always a crooked lip on the line usually caused by a tool that was often manufactured poorly, holes off center ect. This set has worked flawlessly for me everytime. The ease of inserting the die and line of whatever size you are working on is a breeze. A few pumps and done. ★★★★★5 out of 5 stars – I have not found a better tool for flaring
brake lines I have not found a better tool for flaring brake lines. I don't use it often but when I spend the time to bend lines, get them the right length and then need to flare the end, its nice to get a perfect flare. The cheap $40 parts store flaring tool wasted too much time and tubing because sometimes the flares wouldn't be offset a bit, cause a leak, leave one side thin, etc. ★★★★★5 out of 5 stars – This kit is the bomb! This is obviously a quality tool. The kit is not cheap, but quality tools usually aren't. I performed a double flare when I received it and performed perfectly and effortlessly. I will enjoy using this tool in the future. The kit does not come with the Transmission Cooling Line Die and Adapter Set for GM, but many people would not need this tooling and it keep the price a little lower. ★★★★★5 out of 5 stars – Really saved my butt earlier this year. Really saved my butt earlier this year when I had to replace a section of my fuel and brake lines on a Cavalier. I could pay through the nose for a shop to do it or buy the tool and be ready whenever the need arises. I obviously chose the latter option. ★★★★★5 out of 5 stars – I no longer dread doing brake lines! Yes, it's expensive, but there's no other tool that will allow you to flare lines in the vehicle faster. Also, the ability to do special flares (transmission, fuel line) comes in handy. This tool will allow you to do the male ends of fuel quick-connect lines, and another type (I'm not sure what to call it, but it's the kind that requires an o-ring) that's used for GM fuel filters, and power steering lines on a bunch of different vehicles. Be careful while flaring copper alloy tubing, because when you're doing the second step of a double flare, it's very easy to over-compress the flare. There's so much mechanical advantage with the hydraulic ram, it's easy to over-do it. Once you've got the hang of it though, it's great.
★★★★★5 out of 5 stars – No More Aggravation, this is a Lifesaver! I was facing a major brake lines
replacement job on a 20+ year old car here in the rust belt. After what in
reality is a lifetime of struggling with cheap flaring tools, I
uncharacteristically splurged and bought this flaring kit. What a relief. A
terrible job became tolerable, and every time I used the hydraulic lever to
create another perfect bubble flare, I found myself thinking (with a smile)
just how great a tool it is, and how perfect the results are when it is used. Up to this point I am truly impressed
with the quality and function of the tool, and the uniformity of the flares. So
far I have made primarily metric bubble flares, plus a couple of inverted
flares. I recently added the GM trans cooling line dies, but have not tested
those yet. Compared to flared ends of the original
lines, there is only one difference: Smallish grip marks from the dies appear
on tubing after the flaring process is completed. They are fainter/less obvious
than what I am used to seeing left behind by the cheaper tools, but still there
nonetheless. As far as function and use, the only difficulty arises when preparing the line for flaring. I managed, but it would be much easier if I had 3 hands to hold everything during setup. That is especially true when a flare is needed on a line which remains attached to the car (preparing to splice to the existing line).
