Zone VI Classic 4x5 Wooden Field Camera with Nikon Nikkor-W  210/5.6 Lens

The Zone VI Classic field camera is a deluxe, middleweight (this one is 6 pounds 1 ounce without lens, about 7 pounds 4 ounces with the included lens) wooden field camera with most of the usual view camera movements. It has front tilt, rise & fall, shift and swing, rear tilt and swing. The bellows are 19" fully extended, which is typical for a camera in this class but quite a bit more than a lightweight-class field camera. The bellows on this camera are interchangeable with "bag" bellows (not included)  that allow more camera movements with wide-angle lenses but the standard bellows will work fine with a lens down to 90mm.

Zone VI, a photographic supply company that was near Newfane, Vermont, sold  cameras made for them by others (Tachihara, Wista, Wisner) under the Zone VI brand name for a period of time (1978-1988), eventually producing their own cameras; the company was subsequently sold to Calumet, who continued to produce the cameras under the Zone VI name. This camera is one of those produced in-house by Fred Picker and Richard Ritter and is known as the "real" Zone VI camera, the Vermont edition or the Picker/Ritter model,  this one has the serial number 1287.

The lens is a Nikon Nikkor-W  210/5.6, a 6-element/4-group Plasmat-type lens in a Copal #1 shutter. 150mm is considered to be  the "normal" lens for 4x5 and is similar to a 50mm lens in 35mm, a 210mm lens is about like a 70mm lens on a 35mm camera. I would rate the lens at an 8.5, the glass is clear & clean, the shutter speeds sound accurate compared to other lenses I have, it just has normal wear & tear from being used.

The camera is in what I would call 8.5 condition, mostly just normal wear & tear from being used and moderate tarnishing of the brass parts. All of the camera movements operate as intended, the bellows have been checked and are light-tight.

Two clean film holders, a shutter release cable and a new Gator brand bag, that was originally made to fit a sound mixer board but fits a 4x5 field camera nicely, are also included.
