AUTOGRAPHED by Erich Von Daniken the author of the Groundbreaking "Chariots of the Gods":ODYSSEY OF THE GODS: THE ALIEN HISTORY OF ANCIENT GREECE
This was discovered at a thrift store in Edmonds, WA, about 15 miles north of Seattle.
Seattle is a frequent destination for authors as they tour in promotion of their books.
The inscription reads (in red ink):
"To Donna! Erich V. Daniken June 10th. 2000".
This is a Hardcover; I believe it to be a 1st Printing (although it doesn't say which printing, it's a good guess to presume that Von Daniken's book tour was for the then-new book, so a 1st Printing). Lite general wear to the Dust Jacket, NO Fraying. Some light speckling along the top and bottom side external edges. Beyond the inscription page, no writings or markings. Clean, in Very Good+ shape, Solid Binding. There are Many Color Photographs, and a few black and white. About 30 pages of photographs. The book is 168 pages in length.

The greatest significance of Erich Von Daniken is in introducing the concept that the history and evolution of the Human Race has been influenced, even directed by Extraterrestrial Beings into the Mass Mainstream of Modern Thought. His 1968 classic "Chariots of the Gods" has sold over 70 Million copies as of January, 2017. It was that book, along with the classic 1968 Science Fiction film "2001, A Space Odyssey", by Director Stanley Kubrick and writer Arthur C. Clarke, that introduced the idea of Alien involvement with the affairs of the Human Race from the very beginning to the masses, and I believe that it is helping to trigger an awakening of Mass Consciousness Awareness of our Extraterrestrial Roots. Of course, many other writers such as Zacheria Stichen and William Bramley have also benefited from this Mass Awareness Groundswell. Whether the "Official" 1st Contact will be a peaceful one as in the film "Arrival" or a terrifying, oppressive overthrow as in the TV series "Colony", time will tell...but many of us will not be surprised at all by the Aliens, having been made to ponder this ahead of time by pioneers such as Erich Von Daniken.
