The Carver M-1.5 and M-4.0t amplifiers used two large Capacitors for the High 130V Voltage Rail.  While these capacitors can still be purchased, the pricing, delivery times, and minimum order quantities are extremely prohibitive!

This PCB solution provides a quick and easy way to replace these aging capacitors with newer, easily available, and much lower cost capacitors. For best results using this PCB kit, I suggest you purchase the following capacitors:

For the M-1.5t amp:

C1 thru C6 can be 6 pcs  2200uf 160V  LLG2C222MELB40


OR


C1 thru C6 can be 6 pcs  2700uf 160V  LLS2C272MELC  OR  ESMQ161VSN272MR45S


OR


C1 Thru C4 can be 4 pcs  3900uf 160v  LLG2C392MELC50  OR ESMQ161VSN392MA50S

For the M-4.0t amp:

C1 Thru C6 must be 6 pcs  3900uf 160v  LLG2C392MELC50  OR ESMQ161VSN392MA50S

These capacitors are available from Mouser & Digi-Key and usually in stock!  You can use other brands, but you will want to check the lead spacing, lead diameter, and part diameter compared to the Nichicon parts for best results.

I can also sell you four or six of the 3300uf 160v capacitors separately, if you wish for about $ 10.00 per capacitor plus shipping.
