This auction is for a very rare and very unusual vintage World War II wristwatch and photograph from a local man. This soldier was a Navy Pilot during the ware and his father was in World War I (I have his items listed here on ebay now). This is his flight watch and it's marked Norma on the dial and has a Tachymeter inner dial specifically used during flight. What makes this watch even more unusual is that it has an Art Deco wing design that is actually built into the case and covers the lugs - that was not added on later, the watch case was made like that. The watch is in good condition but missing the crown so I can't test the mainspring BUT when I removed the back of the case it started ticking for around 15 seconds until it stopped so I believe it's in working order. The dial has darkened but it has a black background like most military watches. The lug anchor points on either side has a break. The band still holds tight BUT if it was pulled too tight it would come off. Included is an envelope with a set of photographs - one shows him in an airplane with bomb emblems and such. Really nice set! The watch measures about 1.5" wide so it's a very large watch. Guaranteed as described!
