This is an original and one-of-a-kind carving made from driftwood, naturally smoothed by the sand and sea of the Pacific Northwest Coast.  I collect driftwood during and after the winter storms then carve this wood using rotary grinding tools and small knives.  I give each of my wood spirits a rustic patina using a stain I create from oil paints then finish up with a polyurethane spray.  After more than thirty years of woodcarving I still get a kick out of collaborating with Nature to create these crazy characters!
