18K White Gold F Fine Nib Fountain Pen
Production Date: H275: 1975/2: Very First Custom Model
HOW DO I FEEL ABOUT THIS PEN
Do you really want a Black Striped Myu? They are basically impossible to buy, at least at a good price. Here I come to give you one of my favorites and I hope you would love it. If you are already a Pilot fan, I donot have to say anything more, but for the beginners who wants to keep their hands on to a beautiful piece of history, I am intrigued to write for them.
As the this vintage model pen is very rare and expensive to get one, but i find myself very lucky that, I have some of them in my collection. My soft spot for fountain pens has no bound. If I can my hands on to any of the vintage pens with history, I would feel like this is one of my happiest days of my life. It breaks my heart to put my collections up for auction but I do it anyway because I want my fellow pen lovers can also feel the absolute pleasure to experience the part of the history like I did. So i will put the pen on auction for $0.99. You know the worth of these pens and it is timeless collection pen money cannot buy. May the pen be yours who deserves the Excellency of this pen.
WHY SO EXPENSIVE & HARD TO FIND:
Pilot Vintrage Customs were only sold here in Japan, intended for the Japanese market, which explains why they are so highly valued in the west. Even in Japan they are difficult to find since Pilot no longer makes them. But they are such tough pens, the ones that do turn up are usually still in great condition. These are workhorse pens.
LITTLE BIT OF HISTORY:
It is vintage model 1970s Pilot Custom made of stainless steel and has grooves cut that are colored in black. This pen feels heavier than the Myu and of course is longer and comes in a very beautiful 18k WG (white gold) nib that is built into the section, rather than pressure fit or attached to the feed. This is the only vintage Custom model which came in integrated nib.
Now you can see the same lineage that Pilot still carries in $500 pens like Sterling Silver Art Craft comes in same nib structure with 18K nibs. Pilot tributes this type of design to only expensive models. This nib is marked H275. This pen was made in Hiratsuka, Japan in February 1975. Since it is Pilot legend and dated 1970s, getting one of these is just priceless.

PERSONAL EXPERIENCE:
Not only does the look have visual appeal, it feels nice. The texture is nice and smooth with the engraved black lines, yet the grip is excellent--you won't be worrying about the pen slipping from your hands. And because it is made from a high quality stainless steel, it does a great job of resisting scratches. The balance is nearly perfect with or without the cap. The cap snaps on with a very audible "click" and keeps the nib reasonably air tight, and features a large handsome spring loaded black lined clip (it also posts smoothly and securely). The nib itself is the large format Pilot Custom nib that Pilot and Namiki are so famous for.
My experience with the Pilot vintage Custom has been nothing short of wonderful. The build quality is everything you would expect it to be. This model is dated 12/1974 and is in pristine condition. The 18K White Gold nib is very firm and writes like a silky smooth cotton touch over any kind of paper you may want to try writing with. Absolutely delightful.
I will never, ever commit to using one pen and one pen only for the rest of my life, but if I did, the Pilot vintage Custom would be in the running. That a pen several decades old still looks this good and writes this well is a testament to the design prowess of Pilot.
