Simply choose the correct size patch by paying attention to the 'max diameter tear' width when purchasing, remove the backing paper to reveal the adhesive, position your patch on the inside of the garment (being careful that no adhesive shows through the tear) and iron with a hot iron from both sides to secure. To finish, sew a simple line of running stitch around the edge of the patch in matching or contrast thread, by hand or machine to give a permanent fix.
