UP FOR AUCTION IS THIS BEAUTIFUL VINTAGE LEICA IIIc 35MM RANGEFINDER CAMERA WITH THE ORIGINAL CASE. This camera is excellent condition with almost no wear except for the original owners name and service number from WWII being engraved. I got this from an 87 year old gentleman who bought this used sometime in the 1950's and said it was a IIIf, he took excellent care of this camera. This camera is unique with a serial number that says it was made in 1946 and is a IIIc but it has the same Black Letter winding knob as a IIIf. I know that Leica would modify cameras that didn't come with the self timer, I am guessing this was a modification but that is speculation. The Summitar f=5cm 1:2 lens has some dust particles as you can clearly see in the photos, there is no fungus or scratches and has a lens cap. There is a working Metraphot Weston Light Meter with the External Booster, both have leather cases and the foot plate screwdriver is included. The shutter is crisp and functions on all speed but has not been tested for accuracy. The curtain is in excellent condition. There is also a Leica Imarect 3.5 Finder with the name engraved. Neither the shutter or the light meter has been tested for accuracy. The case is in very good condition. The instructions are excellent and cover IIIc & IIIf. This camera was last used in 2003 and worked perfectly, I can't find anything negative to say about this camera! I have provided 79 photos for your inspection. This camera has not recently been film tested and is sold AS-IS.
I make no guarantees that used or vintage camera equipment is working at original factory specifications. Equipment is not film tested. For users looking for optimum results, a professional servicing (CLA) is recommended.
This would make a nice addition to any collection.
