This Large Aviator Kit Bag is used by our local firemen here in Billings, Montana as a "turnout bag" and they love it! It'll easily hold a turn-out coat, rubber pants, rigid helmet, rubber boots, and miscellaneous equipment like safety lamp, gloves and flashlight. Members of the Red Oxx crew like to store their snowboard and ski gear (minus the board or skis) during the off season. It will easily pack a ski jacket, winter snow pants or bibs, snowboard boots or ski boots, helmet, gloves, backpack, goggles, winter underwear, a camelback and more!
Or pack it with your camping gear, the Large Aviator will hold several sleeping bags, matresses, tents, even folding chairs and tables. The Large Aviator Kit Bag makes a great storage and transfer bag for all kinds of sporting, camping and hunting gear. Keep in mind it does not come with a shoulder strap so heavier belongings would be better served using a Sherpa Jr. or Big Oxx Expedition bag.

The Aviator line of storage and carry gear bags were developed for the budget minded. Featuring the same sturdy materials, like 1000 weight CORDURA® nylon fabric and heavy-duty hardware, as our regular Red Oxx bags, the Aviator Kit Bags are simplicity by design. To keep them affordable they don't come with the Claw No-slip Shoulder Strap or the upgraded Long Hauler Comfort Carry Strap. All Aviators now feature two D-ring attachments on opposite corners for use with our straps. Nor do they have any pockets or padding. Just a good old basic cavernous hand-carried bag to serve basic simple needs without the extravagance of extra pockets. Rugged, reliable and tough.
Even in the entry level Aviator line, Red Oxx uses the largest zipper we can find, the #10 YKK VISLON® zipper, because they are easily repairable, even in the field; they will hold their place, that is, they "lock"; they are difficult to penetrate, thereby increasing the security of your belongings; they function smoothly in inclement weather and they can be yanked from a variety of angles without losing teeth or becoming separated.
Our Large Aviator Kit bag measures over two feet long, 15 inches wide, and 14 inches tall. The 3/4 wrap-around "break-over" #10 YKK heavy duty zipper configuration opens up the bag nearly flat. Imagine plenty of room to "step in and dress." Enveloping 1.5" wide webbing handle wraps all the way around the bottom of the bag. It's also double box stitched to the bag. No tearing here, ever.
