If your device has been liquid damaged we can diagnose and attempt to get this working again. We will assess the damage and take the best course of action for your device. Please ensure you have switched your device off and the battery is disconnected if possible. Try to power on, connect your device to the mains can cause more harm to the device. What is included and how does it work?
Our Liquid Damage Diagnostic Service includes 5 stages:
Firstly, we disassemble the device and access the extent of the damage and determine how likely it may be for repair or recovery.
We will then put the board through an Ultrasonic Cleaner and also clean up the components of any corrosion or debris.(We use an electronic specified solution for cleaning components)
We then diagnose and carry out further assessment post-clean for any possible faults with the board using the latest schematics and advanced equipment.
If faults are found with components on the board we will replace or repair these.
If no faults are found on the board we will move to stage 4.
At this stage we test other components on your device such as the battery, keyboard, screen etc
If faults are found with components these are not covered in the cost and will need to be quoted separately.
If no faults are found with the components we will move to stage 5.
Finally, we will assemble the device ready for our final longevity test to ensure your device will be fit for use. We also service your device at this stage such as applying new thermal paste to laptops, cleaning out ports and fans etc.
What happens if your board could not be fixed at stage 3?
If your board could not be restored to a full working order at this stage we will contact you with the necessary next step. This could be one of the following and is your choice:
Attempt to recover the device for data recovery only (there is an additional charge for this).
Return the device if no data is required (Partial refund minus the diagnostic fee and postage @ £30)
Recycle the device if no data is required (Full refund will be made and we will recycle the device for you).
Please note: We will check for any signs of previous repair attempts and or extensive damage i.e. Long Screw Damage. In such cases we may not be able to quote for a repair or recovery and the device may then be void for further diagnostics and you can choose whether to recycle the device with us or have it returned.
This will be a postal service and is generally completed within 5-10 working days from arrival. You will receive a confirmation email once we receive the device, you can track the progress online and you will also be contacted once complete. Please do print your booking confirmation to be placed within the packaging.
What do we need from you?
We will require the information listed, this can be sent to us privately by email/eBay or on a slip within the package:
Full Name

Return Address
Access code for your device (if any)
IMEI/Serial number
Once you receive your booking confirmation the device itself will need to be posted to us (please read recommended postage below)
Gadget Rehab will cover the return postage under the listed price and you will need to cover the postage to us. We would recommend you to post securely packaged and with adequate cover. Royal Mail Special Delivery is the recommended postage option as this covers up to £500 and is approx £7.50 for small parcels.
There is no guarantee that we can recover your liquid damaged device to full working order. With some devices we may only be able to recover the data. If you are looking for data recovery only we do offer this service separately on another listing.
As mentioned above we may not be able to continue should there be any other concerns with your motherboard. This also means that we cannot be held liable for any loss of data or damage should the device be discovered as already been tampered with.
