Felipe Nasr was replaced by Pascal Wehrlein, the Mercedes young driver, from recently defunct Manor Racing. However a bizarre crash at the Race of Champions left Pascal with an injury that caused him to miss the first two races of the year. Antonio Giovinazzi made a great debut in Australia, but two crashes at the Chinese Grand Prix took the shine off his debut. Marcus Ericsson occupied the other car and drove a couple of good races, but it was Wehrlein who grabbed headlines with fine performances at Spain and Azerbaijan that yeilded much needed points for the minnows. As the team decided to use the 2016 Ferrari engine, because the 2017 engine didn't fit in their car, the team got less competitive as the year progressed and unsurprisingly finished last in the Constructors' Championship. During the mid-season, the team announced it would use Honda engines, but team principal, Monisha Kaltenborn quit the team and was later replaced by Frédéric Vasseur who quickly reversed the Honda power unit supply in favour of Ferrari engines. At the end of the year, they announced a greater tie up with Ferrari that included Alfa Romeo branding for the 2018 car.

The model is in great condition, removed from the box for photo only and has not been displayed. The perspex lid is in new condition as per the photo. It is from a smoke-free/pet-free home. This is a great addition to any collection and is already very rare.
