16 | Teach Your Children Here's a very good example of three close friends sharing something more than the stage. A little bit brused, but in good shape, CS&N played for 1 1/2 hours a bunch of timeless classics (Deja Vú, Helplessly Hoping, Marrakesh Express, Just a song before I go, Our house) and stayed in touch with their audience, joking and making them sing. Taped at the Warfield theatre in San Francisco, CA in 1991, the show (and, of course, the video!) was called Acoustic. They play with no back-up band, just with their acoustic guitars (Stills sometimes plays electric) and a piano. The voices sound great, pretty much in tune. There is one jewel included in this performance: the song "Taken At All". First released on the Crosby & Nash LP "Whistling Down The Wire", the song was never performed by the trio until this very show. The vocal harmonies blend beautifully and you can feel the magic come back to life! At the end, there's a superb version of "Suite: Judy Blue Eyes" and a funny "Teach Your Children". LONG LIVE CS&N! |
