There are many OBD2 scanners, but does the Scan somehow differ?
Yes, because it is designed especially for Ford, Mazda, Lincoln and Mercury vehicles. So supports specific features of the manufacturer protocols, making the Scan more powerful in work with these models than any regular OBD2 scanner. For example, Scan can detect modules which are not visible for regular OBD2 scanners, can show you trouble codes which are never displayed by OBD2 scanners, can show you PIDs which are not supported by any OBD2 scanner, run specific tests and service procedures. All Ford, Mazda, Lincoln, Mercury vehicles that can be addressed by supported adapters. It is 99% of models after 2000 and around 92% of models after 1996 (the year when OBD2 became a standart in USA). [Note: New 2019+ Mazda 3 and CX-30 are not supported yet]


On Basis of OBD2 Protocol

If you are not sure that your vehicle OBD2 compliant or not , look under the hood and try to locate a label that explicitly states that the vehicle was designed to comply with OBD2 legislation. VEHICLE EMISSION CONTROL INFORMATION Label as photo showing. In this case, OBDII is used as a general term and can mean any of the following: OBD II (California ARB) EOBD (European OBD) JOBD (Japanese OBD) You may also consult your vehicle's owner's manual and perhaps contact your local dealer. However, be aware of the fact that many dealers do not know the difference between OBD and OBD2. If the vehicle is not OBD2 compliant, you cannot use this ELM327 OBD2 scan tool to obtain diagnostic information and activate hidden functions from your vehicle.


Where is the OBD2 Connector?

The OBD2 connector normally located in position "A" and "B", and for a few part of vehicles will find it in position "C" and "D"

Problem 1: Connection with the vehicle error under Windows 10 system

Solution: 1/>>>Set the Scan software Compatibility to "Windows 7". Right -click the Scan icon on desktop, Choose " Properties" , Choose "Compatibility", Choose " Windows7 " , then save. 2/>>>Run Scan software as Administrator. Right-click Scan icon, choose " Run as Administrator" , connect the cable to car and laptop, put ignition on to test.

Problem 2: The Scan Pro scan tool can not connect to computer successfully.

Solution: >>>Check if the USB Driver installed proerply. Right-click "My computer" --> "Device Manager" --> Ports (COM&LPT) shows "CH340T", if not appearance, please install the USB Driver.

Problem 3: Some of the MS-CAN Modules are not available.

Solution: >>>In settings set the MS-CAN support to RTS replay mode under ELM327 specific.
