You are bidding on My Scottish Sketch Book by Lionel Edwards, R.I. Country Life LTD., London published the book copyright 1929. This is a signed limited first edition. It is copy #133 of an edition of 250 copies. Lionel Edwards signed the limitation page. The interior is in good to very good condition. There is hinge crack between the contents page and the blank facing page, foxing along the inside edge of several pages, and on several of the pages facing the watercolor, there is light mirroring. Except for the title pages, the publish did not issue tissue guards. There are no tears or marks. There are no signs of prior ownership. The quarter vellum bound cover is in very good condition. There is a check mark in ink near the head of the spine, uneven browning of the vellum, and the right edge of the cloth on the back board is beginning to be unglued. The book is 10” x 12 1/4”. There are 16 beautiful tipped-in reproductions of Lionel Edwards’s watercolors of a by gone Scotland. He wrote about the frontispiece The River Ossian “In spite of an ever-increasing population and the mass production of motor vehicles, there are still a few (not many) spots where on can escape from the sound of motor horns and fumes of petrol.”
