If you run a small business or send many parcels to friends and family, you may have realised it is hard to get your hands on a compostable alternative to a poly mailing bag. This can be difficult, as it is an extremely versatile and easy way to send out products/gifts in the post.
However, look no further as we have worked hard to create a compostable alternative, meaning there is no need to use single use plastic anymore! These are designed to be used with a heat sealer, although we have tried and tested the use of paper tape to seal the bags shut and this works perfectly!
Then once you have sent your parcel and your recipient has received it, these bags can either be put straight on their home compost, or in their food waste recycling collection bin. Meaning we are all doing our bit for the environment!
Certification
Our bags are fully certified as compostable and biodegradable to EN13432, the internationally recognised certification for compostable material. They are printed with the seedling logo and are accepted by most local authorities for food waste composting schemes.
Storage & Usage
Compostable Mailing bags should be stored in a cool, dark, dry place, otherwise they will start to degrade and split. It's very important to use all bags within 18 months of purchase and keep them out of sunlight and away from sources of heat and steam. It's also a good idea to ensure that you use all your oldest bags first.
