Chandris Lines:  One of my favorite brochures: the detailed, twenty-four-page booklet issued in 1967 for the AUSTRALIS's Australian service.

Lots of color photos showing off the ex-AMERICA's beautiful interiors.  Some people prefer the AMERICA's interior design over that of the UNITED STATES, and after studying this brochure I can see why.  Most of her original furniture and artwork were intact during her Chandris era and show off very nicely in this brochure.  The First Class Ballroom and Smoking Room appear to be unchanged, right down to the furniture.  Deck plans, sample cabin lay-outs, and beautiful day and night photos of the ship on the covers.

Many decades after this brochure was printed, the ex-AMERICA, ex-AUSTRALIS was wrecked off the Canary Islands while under tow to Thailand to become a floating hotel.  For more than a decade the remains of the ship were a tourist attraction until she finally succumbed to the waves.  For great photos of the wreck through the years, check out this web site: www.ssaustralishomepage.co.uk/americanstar.html.

Excellent condition.
