Main Features
The difference between industrial pure titanium and chemical pure titanium is that it contains more oxygen, nitrogen, carbon and a variety of other magazine elements (such as iron, silicon, etc.). It is essentially a low alloy content titanium alloy. Compared with chemical pure titanium, its mechanical properties are similar to those of stainless steel (but the strength is still lower than that of titanium alloy) because of its high magazine element content, which greatly improves its strength.
The characteristics of industrial pure titanium are: low strength, good plasticity, easy processing, good stamping, welding and cutting performance; good corrosion resistance in atmosphere, sea water, wet chlorine and oxidizing, neutral and weak reducing medium, better oxidation resistance than most austenitic stainless steel, but poor heat resistance, and low temperature.
Industrial pure titanium can be divided into GR1.GR2 and GR3 according to its impurity content. The interstitial impurity elements of these three industrial pure titanium increase gradually, so their mechanical strength and hardness increase step by step, but their plasticity and toughness decrease accordingly.
GR2 is commonly used in industry because of its moderate corrosion resistance and comprehensive mechanical properties. GR3 can be used when the requirement of corrosion resistance and strength is high. GR1 can be used for better moulding performance.
 
 USE
1) Mainly used for stamping parts and corrosion-resistant structural parts with low stress but high plasticity, such as aircraft skeleton and skin, engine accessories, marine corrosion-resistant pipelines, valves and pumps. Seawater desalination system components, heat exchanger in chemical industry, pump body, distillation tower, cooler, agitator, tee, impeller, solid parts, ion pump, compressor valve, piston, connecting rod, leaf spring of diesel engine, etc.
(2) GR1.GR2 has good low-temperature toughness and high low-temperature strength when iron content is 0.095%, oxygen content is 0.08%, hydrogen content is 0.0009%, nitrogen content is 0.0062%. It can be used as low-temperature structural materials below - 259 (?)
