Fine Antique Victorian 15ct Gold Sardonyx Signet Ring c1873

A fine Victorian 15ct Gold Sardonyx set Signet Ring, which dates to 1873. This fine quality Antique Ring has a Plain Tapered Shank leading to the Fleur de Lys Decorated Shoulders supporting the Oval Bezel set with a fine Sardonyx (approx' 12.0mm by 10.5mm) (please study the detailed close-up photographs provided, which form an integral part of the ring's description).

This wonderful Antique Signet Ring, which weighs 4.3 grams, has an Oval Bezel that measures approx' 14.5mm by 12.5mm. As shown, the Buttery Yellow Colour of the Antique 15ct Gold together with the beautifully Decorated Shoulders & Bezel make this a particularly fine Victorian Sardonyx Ring.

Overall this fine quality Signet Ring is in great condition with only wear, as shown, commensurate with age. The Sardonyx is of excellent colour and is in good/fair condition with age appropriate surface scratches. The shank has been re-sized historically but shows little wear for a ring of this age and the Hallmark is still clear, as shown, which is indicative of just how little this stunning Antique Ring has been worn.

This superb Victorian Ring is stamped with a full British Hallmark confirming that it is made from solid 15ct Gold and that it was assayed in Birmingham in 1873. It is sized as a UK Ring Size 'J', which equates to a US Ring Size '4 3/4' - as with almost all antique rings the band is slightly ovalized i.e it is not perfectly round and it measures slightly differently on the gauge depending on how it is positioned, however this will not affect the ring when worn.

In summary, this is a fine Victorian 15ct Gold Sardonyx set Signet Ring dating to 1873 - it is quite simply sublime.
