At the Internationale Spieletage (International Game Fair) in Essen, Germany, which took place from October 8 to 11, 2015, during his signing session at the Kosmos booth Klaus Teuber gave away the Special Cards 2015 for the game "The Rivals for Catan."

Because of the Catan - Big Game Event on Gen Con and on the games fair in Essen this year an additional special card was produced. The German title for this card is "Teilnahme am Big Game".

Card text, in English: "If you have registered for a Big Game or would like to participate in the next Big Game, in addition to the resources you receive as a result of the production roll you also receive the same resources your opponent obtained."
